- Individuals that are Level 1 or 2 in Child Care Certification
- They MUST have their updated Vulnerable Sector Check (not dated more than 6 months prior to hire date)
- They MUST have valid Standard First Aid, CPR/AED – Level C Certification

Community Centre Support Staff
We are seeking one Community Centre Support Staff for our team. Our support staff make sure the community centre’s auditorium and four meeting rooms are set up for groups of 20 – 350 people. They help with customer relations and building care while activities are going on at the community centre. Once events are over, they help prepare meeting rooms for the next users. Sometimes, they give tours to would-be renters and help with office duties.
This is a part time position with weekday afternoon and evening shifts as well as daytime and evening shifts on weekends. Our support staff works 8-12 hours per week.

The Dalhousie Community Association is seeking two new Community Centre Event Team members.

Market Manager – Dalhousie Farmers’ Market
Job Description:
The Dalhousie Farmers’ Market is more than a place to buy fresh, healthy, local food. It serves as a hub for collaboration, bringing together customers, vendors, volunteers, and local businesses and organizations. The market fosters meaningful connections between people, food producers, and the surrounding community.
The Market Manager, reporting to the General Manager (GM) of the Dalhousie Community Association, is responsible for overseeing the market. They will build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, community partners, and shoppers to ensure a safe and lively environment where vendors can succeed. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting local food, enjoy working with vendors, and have a genuine love for farmers’ markets and the experiences they provide.
This position is part-time all year round and requires the Manager to attend all markets (15 Summer Markets on Thursdays from June 12 – Sept 18 and 5 indoor Saturday markets in fall, winter and spring), with varied hours throughout the year depending on the requirements of the season (ranging from 8 – 25 hours per week). The position is a hybrid of work from home and at location of the market.
The Farmers’ Market is an evolving entity, and some responsibilities might change with time depending upon the needs of the market, vendors and customers.

Position Requirements:
This is a physical, public facing, outdoor job and working conditions include but are not limited to rain, heat, freezing temperatures and wind. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill sets, and abilities necessary to be successful in this position.
- Proven leadership planning, organizing, setup, management and dealing with challenges or conflicts as they arise.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, conflict resolution and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under time constraints, managing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Self-directed but able to work collectively as a team player.
- Computer literacy including strength with Word, Excel, and some experience with social media platforms. Able to learn new programs (ie. Amilia)
- Ability to remain calm and to enforce rules assertively and respectfully as needed.
- Valid drivers license and vehicle required to set up and take down banners and signs in the community before and after each market.
- Physical Demands: capacity to lift and carry 25-30 lbs; frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and reaching.

Community Centre Coordinator
The Dalhousie Community Association is hiring a Community Centre Coordinator. This person is the Association’s first point of contact with people for community centre rentals, events, programs, and information about what is going on in the Dalhousie community.
If customer service is your passion, this job is for you! You are a person who schedules your work, pays attention to detail, and enjoys a variety of tasks every day. You thrive working with customers, co-workers, and volunteers. Ideally you have worked in the non-profit sector for 3-5 years.
The Community Centre Coordinator works with Association volunteers and employees to:
- Respond to enquiries about the Dalhousie Community Association
- Rent the community centre for events and activities
- Sell and renew community memberships
- Organize community programs and events
- Register participants for community programs and events
- Engage volunteers in community activities
Job Type: Full-time
Qualifications
The following qualifications are highly preferred:
- High school graduate.
- Demonstrated oral and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated organization skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Adaptable.
- Previous experience with online membership and registration system.
- Basic ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Two years of experience in nonprofit customer service.
Pay scale – $23.00 to $27.00 per hour depending on experience
