With the approval of Home is Here: The City of Calgary’s Housing Strategy, Council directed the City of Calgary to take actions to address the housing crisis. One of these actions is the proposed citywide rezoning to a base residential district, or zone. This change will help increase the supply of housing to meet demand. This will also significantly reduce the costs and timelines for permit approvals, and allow for greater housing variety and options to suit your needs.
