A pilot program in partnership with Safer Cycling Calgary
Safe Cycling Foundations is a small-group, skills-based cycling program designed to help new and novice riders build confidence in a safe, supportive environment. This pilot program focuses on core cycling skills and safety fundamentals for both adults and children.
Location: Dalhousie Community Association (DCA) parking lot
Date: Sunday, May 31
9:00–12:00 | First-Time Riders (Ages 14+)
This session is designed for adults and older youth who are learning to ride a bicycle for the first time.

For riders who have little to no prior cycling experience

Focus on balance, starting, stopping, and basic control

1:00–4:00 | Novice Kids (Ages 7 – 13 years old)
This session is open to children who can already ride but want to improve their skills and confidence.

Open to riders ages 7 to 13

Participants must already be able to:
- Ride without training wheels
- Start independently
- Stop using bike brakes
- Turn in both directions
