Summer Tennis Programs at the DCA

City of Calgary Court Rules

  • Tennis and Pickleball are the only activities allowed on the courts.
  • Limit matches to 30 minutes, if others are waiting to play.
  • Respect others and, when available, pick the appropriate court for your game.
  • Only soft-soled and non-marking shoes allowed on courts.
  • Tennis/pickleball courts are free for the public to use on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Individuals or groups who wish to reserve a court for private instruction, leagues or tournaments can obtain a permit for a fee. https://www.calgary.ca/bookings/tennis-courts.html
  • Priority is always given to booked/reserved courts.

The Dalhousie Community Association is excited to offer outdoor tennis lessons in 2026. Whether you’re new to the game or looking to build on existing skills, tennis offers a fun and active way to stay healthy at any age. That’s why we have designed programs for a range of age groups and skill levels so you can easily find the right fit for your experience and goals. These are small sized classes with a maximum of 8 individuals. Smaller class sizes offer more personalized coaching with our TPA (Tennis Professional Association of Canada) Certified tennis coach! Our instructor will be Chibueze Sibeudu.

Age Groups & Times
  • Kids (8 – 10 years): 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
  • Youth (11 – 14 years): 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
  • Adults (15+): 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Cost: $75 per 3 lesson series (per person)

The series will span over a 3 week time period with sessions being 1 times a week, 1 hour per session, for a total of 3 (1hr) lessons.

Location: 5432 Dalhart Road NW

Equipment is not provided. Individuals will need to bring their own racket. Tennis balls will be provided by the instructor.

Beginner Tennis Series (3-Session Course)

If you’re new to tennis, our beginner series gives you a strong start by teaching essential techniques, basic rules, and core game fundamentals.

Saturdays: July 11, 18, 25 or August 8, 15, 22

  • Kids 8 – 10 Beginner: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
  • Youth 11 – 14 Beginner: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
  • Adults (15+) Beginner: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm (July Class FULL)

Sundays: July 12, 19, 26

  • Adults (15+) Beginner: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm (Class A FULL)
  • Adults (15+) Beginner: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (Class B)
Intermediate Tennis Series (3-Session Course)

Ready to level up? After learning the fundamentals, move into our intermediate series to sharpen your skills and start building smarter game strategies.

Sundays: July 12, 19, 26

  • Adults (15+) Intermediate: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Sundays: August 9, 16, 23

  • Kids 8 – 10 Intermediate: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
  • Youth 11 – 14 Intermediate: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
  • Adults (15+) Intermediate: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Tennis Instructor

Chibueze Sibeudu (Coach Chib) is an avid tennis lover who’s been playing the game for over 30 years and coaching for more than 20. A former college-level player, he brings experience, energy, and a genuine passion for helping others grow. At Dalhousie Community Association, he focuses on building strong fundamentals, boosting confidence, and most importantly—making tennis fun for everyone.

Note: These tennis courts are owned by the City of Calgary and are free for public use on a first-come, first-served basis. Court permits for private instruction, leagues, or tournaments are available for a fee through the City’s website.

The DCA does not manage court rentals; however, we arrange and reserve court access with the City for all DCA tennis lessons.
