Knitting is more than just a creative hobby, it’s also a great way to support brain health. Research has linked knitting to reduced stress, improved cognitive function, and a lower risk of cognitive decline.

Whether you’re brand new or looking for a refresher, this hands-on class will guide you step-by-step through the fundamentals in a supportive, social environment.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to cast on
  • Basic knit stitches
  • How to read simple patterns
  • Tips for fixing common mistakes

What to Bring

  • 100 yards of Bulky yarn (not cotton) – The yarn should be wound into a ball and ready for knitting if needed (not all skeins require winding).
  • 8 mm knitting needles (straight or circular)
Wooden needles are recommended for beginners as they are less slippery

You’ll complete a cozy buttoned cowl.
Buttons will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.
