Companion Planting Workshop - Art & Science

Join Janet Melrose, Calgary’s Cottage Gardener for a hands-on workshop to learn about the Companion Planting – Art and Science.  Companion planting as a gardening technique has been around for ages. Some view it as an art form. Some people attribute the benefits accrued from practicing its concepts to be rooted in science.

Location and Timing:

The Companion Planting workshop take place on Thursday, May 28 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm, at the Dalhousie Community Association.

Learn the principles and practices of companion planting:

  • Learning plant characteristics and needs;
  • How companion planting provided benefits to other plants
  • Various planting guilds and combinations
  • Problems that can crop up
  • Techniques for transplanting seedlings into containers
  • Care of your container- watering, fertilizers, pruning and harvesting
  • Then plant up a container with a selection of container worthy flowers

Costs: $55 per person (Includes all tools and supplies)
