Do You Have Powdery Mildew?

Have you ever encountered powdery mildew in your pumpkin patch? Or on your cucumber, tomato or pepper plants? This destructive and disheartening garden disease is easily identified by white spots on the tops and bottoms of leaves and stems on many of our gardening favourites.
This pervasive blight first appears in mid-summer. In order to contain and eradicate this disease prevention is paramount. By mixing 5mL baking soda and 10mL of horticultural oil in each litre of water and spraying your garden plants every week or two BEFORE mildew season you can eliminate this pest and its adverse effects on your harvest.
