Dalhousie LRT Station TOC – More steps coming soon

Thank you for participating in CMLC’s survey about the potential Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) at Dalhousie LRT Station.
We received more than 500 responses to the community survey in the Dalhousie Station area, and we appreciate the time you and your neighbours took to share your ideas, aspirations and concerns.
Our next steps are to process the feedback gathered through the surveys as well as the data collected through the geotechnical analysis we completed at the site in June.
In the coming months, we’ll scope out next steps for site planning and community engagement for each potential TOC site, and we’ll share findings from the survey, details about the site planning process, and the next phases of community engagement as they are refined.

The DCA Planning and Development Committee (the PD Committee) met with CMLC to hear more about this project. At this point, the project is early stage with initial activity being a geotechnical assessment, with on-site work taking place in stages Friday, June 27th and Saturday, June 28th, 2025. The community survey, which is being promoted by a mail drop to all residents and by signage throughout the community, is intended to help inform CMLC’s understanding of the community and (hopefully) community expectations for the site. As the project proceeds, additional engagement will follow, including workshops and open houses.

While Dalhousie does not have a statutory plan to guide development, the PD Committee pointed CMLC to the Future Layers of Dalhousie report (https://www.dalhousiecalgary.ca/futurelayersofdalhousie/). In addition, we noted the importance of major development strengthening community connections and providing amenities and services that are convenient and easily accessible to residents.

The PD Committee will endeavor to stay up to speed on this project by continuing to engage with CMLC to provide our perspectives as well as help distribute information as it becomes available.
