On March 30th, 2026, the Dalhousie Community Association received the third application in Dalhousie for a New: Rowhouse Building (1 building), Secondary Suite (4 suites). The proposed development is located on a laneless corner lot along Dalhousie Drive at the intersection of 53rd Street NW, near to John Laurie Boulevard and on the north side of the playing fields surrounding the community center.

Application scope is described as:

New: Rowhouse Building (1 building), Secondary Suite (4 suites)

2-storeys (11 metres) in height

4 dwelling units and 4 secondary suites

The current Land Use District allows for this type of development.

The City of Calgary Land Use Bylaw for R-CG includes Secondary Suite as a permitted use. A Rowhouse Building is considered a discretionary use. It is important that comments are provided to the File Manager through the form or the contact information given on the Development Map site. While it can be helpful to provide a copy of any comments to our Councilor, the decision on this application is made by the City Administration through the File Manager.

Please note that the DCA does not have any authority in the decision-making process for development permit applications in our community. This is solely in the hands of the City. The DCA is only able to provide comments for consideration by the City.
